Any good heavy metal detox should start with a colon cleanse.
85% of heavy metals are stored there. It's crucial to eat greens and colon nurturing foods such as fiber, Chlorella, Cilantro, Pau d'Arco, Psyllium Seed Husk, Alfalfa, Black Walnut, Cloves, Cayenne, Rosemary, Watercress, Echinacea.
Now in my experience doing the hard core veggies-only diets does not work.
Rice is a good way to supplement, it will help the colon push heavy metals down. After all if there is nothing to poop-out, the heavy metals are not going to leave.
I recommend eating jasmine rice - not basmati - basmati is the only rice that is not calming in the ayurvedic system - and so I recommend calming foods in the ayurvedic system. As heavy metal detox can create irritability, and trust me, anything helps as heavy metal poisoning symptoms and detox can be pretty hard emotionally, and we are venturing ourselves in areas where a straw can break the camel's back.
So let's talk about poop some more. When it's dark green, cylindrically shaped with no holes, large ( not pen size), long and most importantly, you only need 2 sheets of toilet paper that will leave a small non-oily green imprint. you are doing well with your colon cleanse. I can achieve this result after 2 days of starting the colon cleanse, which is really a colon care diet.
